5 Good Reasons To Sleep Naked, For Your Body And Mind

Last updated by Rosie Harlow

I didn’t think about it, but sleeping naked is a topic ripe for debate. There are those for whom the question does not arise, those for whom pajamas are essential, and those who daren’t yet take the plunge: for fear of being cold, of being surprised during the night, or having trouble accepting their body. Whatever the obstacle, the good weather is on its way, and I’m going to reveal to you the 5 advantages of leaving your pajamas in the wardrobe.

5 Good Reasons To Sleep Naked, For Your Body And Mind

The 5 good reasons to sleep naked

Don’t be too prudish, tonight, drop your pajamas and slip under your sheets naked. You’ll love it and what’s more, there are many benefits!

1. To heat up the atmosphere

What do you think is more sensual? Your Wonder Woman short pajamas or your naked body. Don’t even consider it! Even if you go to bed in your sexiest nightie, it’s still your body that’s the most sensual. So in order to add a little passion and heat to your intimacy, slip under your sheets naked. Without even talking about sex, nudity reinforces a couple’s intimacy. So it’s a good way to strengthen your bond and simply bring you closer together.

2. To sleep better

Sleeping naked allows you to get a deeper and more efficient sleep. Firstly, you won’t wake up to put your pajamas back in the right place (you know, those devilish shorts that seem to want to settle inside you). Plus, your body temperature will be lowered. A low temperature is ideal for a night of deep and restful sleep.

Sleeping naked is a much easier habit to get into in summer than in winter. And as it takes 21 days to get into a new habit, it’s the perfect time to start!

3. To promote potential weight loss

As I said earlier, your body temperature drops when you sleep naked. By dropping to 36 °C, your body will use energy to warm up and therefore burn calories. You won’t feel cold, and you’ll lose weight... a little!

4. To have more beautiful skin… and hair

When your body is naked, it can breathe and the epidermis cells renew themselves more quickly. This slows down the aging of the skin and makes it easier to get rid of toxins and excess sebum. As for your hair, sweating can dry it out and irritate your scalp. Without pajamas, we sweat less and therefore protect our hair.

5. To grow self-esteem

Accepting yourself completely, as you are, is the basis of self-confidence. Being at ease with your body, therefore, contributes to this self-confidence. Sleeping naked allows you to regain control of your body and learn to love it. To help you, you can even admire yourself in the mirror every night before going to bed.

Finally, let’s not forget that sleeping naked is very good for your health. Indeed, sleeping without pajamas reduces the risk of infections.  And we love our bodies, even more, when they’re not suffering!
